Mobile users can now easily check and manage their active Value Added Subscriptions (VAS) subscriptions through dedicated USSD codes. This facility will enable users to review the services they are subscribed to and deactivate any unwanted services with ease.
This makes it easier for customers to track any hidden subscriptions that could quietly drain data.
Under the new consumer facilitation measure, Jazz and Zong subscribers can access their VAS information by dialing *6611#, Telenor users can dial *4444#, while Ufone customers can use *6869# to view and manage their subscriptions.
Jazz customers can transparently manage VAS and opt in and out of services through SIMOSA.
This is because the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has directed all Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) across the country to provide consumers with easier access to information regarding their subscribed Value Added Services (VAS).
The initiative is expected to simplify the process of monitoring additional services linked to mobile accounts.
PTA stated that the initiative has been introduced to strengthen consumer rights and protect subscribers from unnecessary charges that may arise from unwanted or forgotten VAS subscriptions. Consumers have been encouraged to regularly review their active services and deactivate those they no longer require.
The telecom regulator reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding consumer interests and promoting consumer-centric practices throughout Pakistan’s telecommunications sector. PTA said it will continue to introduce measures that enhance transparency, improve service delivery, and empower telecom users with greater control over their mobile services.
