Realme has expanded its 16 Series with the launch of the Realme 16T. The new model increases the total number of smartphones in the lineup to four.
Its main highlights include a large 8,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and a 50MP Sony primary camera.
The Realme 16T features a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display reaches 1,200 nits of peak brightness and has a centered punch hole for the front camera.
The phone does not have an under-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, the fingerprint scanner is built into the power button on the right side.
The Realme 16T comes in Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and India-exclusive Starlight Red color options. The rear panel features a Gleaming Wings Design, but this finish is only available on the Aurora Green version.
The phone also has MIL STD 810H certification, along with IP66, IP68, IP69, IP69K, and IP69 Pro ratings.
The Realme 16T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and offers a microSD card slot for storage expansion of up to 2TB. For cooling, Realme has included a 5,300mm² vapor chamber.
The phone runs Realme UI 7.0 out of the box. Realme has not revealed how many years of software support the device will receive.
The Realme 16T has a dual rear camera setup. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor, which Realme calls the “50MP Sony IMX852 AI Camera.” It is joined by a 2MP monochrome camera.
The phone includes AI-powered photography features such as AI Portrait Glow. This feature analyzes lighting around the subject and applies extra lighting effects to improve subject brightness. AI Portrait Glow offers four lighting effects: Flash, Studio Light, Natural Light, and Rim Light.
The Realme 16T also includes LumaColor IMAGE technology for more natural skin tones in photos. The rear camera module includes Aura Flash and a selfie mirror. On the front, the phone has a 16MP selfie camera.
The Realme 16T packs an 8,000mAh battery. Realme says the battery can last seven years and deliver up to three days of use on a single charge.
The phone supports 45W charging and 15W reverse wired charging. It also supports all scenario bypass charging.
The Realme 16T comes in three memory options. The 6GB and 128GB model costs $313. The 8GB and 128GB versions are priced at $334. The 8GB and 256GB model costs $365.
