The Punjab government has amended the Birth and Death Rules 2025 to provide relief to citizens registering births and deaths after the prescribed deadline.
Under the amendment, the government has extended the period for fee-free late registration by another three years, allowing citizens to register delayed births and deaths without paying the applicable late registration fee.
The government has formally issued a gazette notification confirming the fee waiver and the extension of the free registration period.
Punjab Local Government Secretary Zaid Bin Maqsood has directed the Director General of Local Government to ensure the amended rules take effect immediately.
