The Punjab government has directed that long leaves for government employees should be discouraged.
Officials have clarified that in normal circumstances, leave of more than 15 days should not be allowed.
According to the new instructions, any request for leave beyond 15 days should only be approved if there is a strong and specific reason. In ordinary cases, absence of more than 15 days will be treated as unauthorized leave.
Authorities have also been told to avoid unnecessary long leaves in order to keep government work running smoothly.
