Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has banned the placement of concrete flower pots along roadsides and road medians and directed authorities to use recycled plastic drain covers instead.
Presiding over a special meeting, she reviewed development projects to be carried out through own-source revenue in Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions.
The meeting was informed that 20 projects would be completed in Sargodha Division, including eight in Sargodha district, six in Khushab and six in Bhakkar. The projects include the construction, expansion and rehabilitation of major roads.
In Rajanpur, six own-source revenue projects were approved, along with sewerage and drainage projects in Rojhan, Kot Mithan, and Jampur.
Maryam also ordered authorities to install electronic traffic signals on congested roads, remove illegal ramps obstructing public roads and prioritize sewerage and drainage projects in villages. She directed officials to display city names on green, landscaped plots at city entrances and ensure timely, high-quality completion of development projects.
