Lenovo has returned to the smartphone market with the Legion Y70, its first phone under its own name since the Y90 in 2022.
The Legion Y70 is a gaming phone with high-end hardware, a large battery, fast charging, and bypass charging support.
The Lenovo Legion Y70 features a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen supports up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness and Dolby Vision. The phone is available in Ice Soul White and Carbon Black.
The Legion Y70 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is the non-Elite version. Lenovo is offering the phone with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The memory runs at up to 9,600Mbps.
The phone comes with 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage in the base model. Lenovo is offering 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 1TB/512GB models.
Cooling is handled by a 5,500mm² vapor chamber. Lenovo says the cooling system can lower the CPU core temperature by 7°C.
The Legion Y70 has a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56 inch sensor and an f/1.8 wide-angle lens.
It also includes an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 lens. The ultrawide camera can focus from as close as 2.5cm.
On the front, the phone has a 32MP selfie camera.
The Lenovo Legion Y70 packs an 8,000 mAh battery with 90W charging.
It also supports bypass charging, which allows the phone to draw power directly during gaming instead of constantly charging the battery.
Pricing starts at $450.
