The federal government has approved the creation of 1,934 new posts in Islamabad Police during the financial year 2025-26, according to an official notification.

The newly created positions have been allocated to the Special Protection Unit (SPU) and the Law and Order Division to strengthen security and policing capacity in the federal capital.

According to the document, 997 posts have been created for the Special Protection Unit, including 12 inspectors (BS-16), 15 sub-inspectors (BS-14), 50 assistant sub-inspectors (BS-11), 100 head constables (BS-09) and 820 constables (BS-07).

Meanwhile, 937 positions have been approved for the Law and Order Division. These include 12 inspectors, 35 sub-inspectors, 50 assistant sub-inspectors, 80 head constables and 760 constables.

The notification states that the expenditure for the newly created posts will be met from the sanctioned budget allocated to Islamabad Police for the financial year 2025-26.
