Police have launched a crackdown on kite flying and aerial firing in Rawalpindi.
Along with online surveillance, action is also being taken against repeat offenders. Police will also monitor the delivery of kite-flying equipment through goods transport and other channels.
A police spokesman said the crackdown was launched on the instructions of CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera against kite suppliers, kite sellers and kite flying.
The CPO has directed senior officers to supervise the operation.
Police said there is a zero-tolerance policy against kite flying and aerial firing. Citizens have been urged to discourage such activities and report them on the police emergency helpline 15.
Meanwhile, two police officials deployed on security duty at the CPO’s residence were injured after being hit by a motorcycle on Sunday.
According to police, Faisal and Asad Mehmood were struck by a speeding motorcycle and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Their condition was later described as stable.
