A trailer carrying ghee belonging to a well-known brand, along with its driver and a worker onboard, mysteriously disappeared from the Hakla service area within the jurisdiction of Taxila police station in Rawalpindi.
The combined value of the trailer and the ghee loaded on it is reportedly more than Rs. 45 million. The trailer was later reportedly recovered by Peshawar police.
According to police, Abdul Rashid, manager of the private logistics company responsible for transporting the shipment, said trailer number TM1/768 had left Karachi for Lawrencepur with a supply of ghee belonging to a well-known company.
When the vehicle reached the Hakla service area, unknown persons allegedly removed its tracker, after which the company lost contact with the trailer.
The company administration immediately tried to contact the driver, Abdul Razzaq, but his mobile phone was also switched off. A subsequent search failed to locate the driver or the trailer at the time.
Police later registered a case on Abdul Rashid’s complaint following court orders.
