To enhance the professional capabilities of Railways Police officers, 73 recently recruited probationer assistant sub-inspectors have been sent to the Elite Police Training Centre in Bedian, Lahore, for an eight-week specialized orientation course. The training is aimed at helping officers deal with modern security challenges, respond to emergencies and ensure the effective protection of passengers.

It is also expected to further strengthen the security of train operations in Balochistan, where the railway network and train services face particular security challenges.

According to officials, professionally trained officers equipped with modern policing, tactical and security skills will be better prepared to respond to emerging threats and ensure the safe movement of trains and passengers.

The 73 probationer ASIs will undergo eight weeks of professional training at the Elite Police Training Centre, Bedian. This is the first time in the history of Railways Police that such a specialized orientation course has been arranged for probationer ASIs.

The expenses of the training course will be covered by the Railways Police Training Fund to ensure quality training in line with modern policing and security requirements.

Railways Police IG Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan said quality training is essential for building the professional capabilities of officers and preparing them to perform their duties effectively in the field.

He said all available resources would be used to provide the best possible training to Railways Police officers and personnel, adding that there would be no compromise on training standards.

The IG said professionally trained officers would play a vital role in improving the overall performance of the Railways Police and strengthening the security of passengers, railway installations and train operations across the country.

He said modern and specialized training is especially necessary in view of the prevailing security situation and recent incidents of terrorism.

According to him, the enhanced capabilities of trained officers will help the department respond more effectively to security threats and ensure safer train operations, particularly on sensitive routes in Balochistan.
