Xiaomi has started revealing additional details about the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max ahead of its expected launch later this month.

The company has confirmed several key specifications, highlighting battery life, display technology, and camera performance as major focus areas for the device.

The teasers also suggest Xiaomi is targeting the large screen premium smartphone segment more aggressively with the new model.

One of the main highlights of the Xiaomi 17 Max is its 8000mAh battery.

Xiaomi claims it is the largest battery ever used in one of the company’s smartphones.

The device is expected to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Xiaomi said it is using silicon-carbon battery technology to help maintain a slimmer design despite the larger battery size.

The Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a 6.9-inch “Super Pixel” display.

According to Xiaomi, the panel uses a new RGB sub pixel arrangement that delivers near 2K image sharpness while using less power compared with traditional 1.5K OLED displays.

The screen is also expected to include a new red luminous material designed to improve brightness efficiency and color uniformity.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature the company’s first Leica-backed 200MP main camera.

The camera setup is expected to include a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultrawide sensor.

The high-resolution primary sensor may also improve zoom quality while reducing dependence on digital cropping.

The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

Xiaomi said the processor is designed to deliver flagship-level gaming and multitasking performance.

The company also teased a redesigned internal layout that could improve thermal management and camera module placement.

The Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to launch in China on May 21.

The phone may be available in Sky Blue, White, and Pixel Black color options.
