The Sindh government has decided to reopen the mixed traffic lane on Karachi’s University Road to ease congestion caused by the ongoing construction of the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who reviewed the progress of the Red Line BRT project and ongoing construction work.
Officials informed the meeting that work is progressing rapidly across different sections of the project, with government departments coordinating to ensure timely completion.
Sharjeel Memon described the Red Line BRT as a transformative public transport project for Karachi and said completing it on schedule remains a top priority for the Sindh government. He also directed all relevant departments to complete their assigned work within the agreed deadlines.
The senior minister added that the government is committed to providing Karachi residents with modern, efficient and environmentally friendly public transportation.
