The Sindh government has declared Friday, August 14, 2026, a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department on Monday, the holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government.
The notification said essential services will remain exempt from the public holiday.
The provincial government issued the notification on August 10, formally declaring August 14 a public holiday throughout Sindh to mark Independence Day.
