The Sindh government will launch a crackdown against public service vehicles that operate without digitized route permits and valid fitness certificates.

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon said several public service vehicles currently operate without valid fitness certificates or route permits. He also said some vehicles lack functional fire extinguishers, despite safety rules requiring operators to keep them onboard.

Memon directed officials to verify the digitized route permits of all public service vehicles across the province. He said authorities will cancel manual route permits and take action against vehicles that lack digitized permits or valid fitness certificates.

The transport minister also ordered officials to prepare a comprehensive record of violations and submit it to the Transport Department every two weeks. He said authorities will blacklist operators who repeatedly violate the rules.

Memon instructed Motor Vehicle Inspectors to conduct surprise inspections and take immediate action against violators. Officials will impose fines, suspend route permits and cancel licenses where necessary.

He said authorities will not allow public service vehicles to operate on roads without meeting mandatory safety requirements. The minister also directed the Regional Transport Authority and Motor Vehicle Inspection Wing to submit enforcement reports every two weeks.
