Samsung may be preparing to launch its first rollable phone in 2027, according to a new leak that has revealed five flexible-display devices reportedly under development. The device, identified by the codename Z9, is believed to be a tablet-like product with a display that expands by rolling outward instead of unfolding through a central hinge. The leak comes from GalaxyClub , which reports that Samsung is currently developing five flexible-display projects under the codenames B9, H9, Q9A, Q9B and Z9.

The device, identified by the codename Z9, is believed to be a tablet-like product with a display that expands by rolling outward instead of unfolding through a central hinge. The leak comes from GalaxyClub , which reports that Samsung is currently developing five flexible-display projects under the codenames B9, H9, Q9A, Q9B and Z9.

Very little is known about the Z9, but GalaxyClub believes it could be Samsung’s long-rumored rollable device. It is not clear whether the product would be sold as part of the Galaxy Z series or even marketed as a separate smartphone.

Samsung Display has previously demonstrated its Rollable Flex OLED technology, but that does not confirm plans for a commercial Samsung device.

The development timeline also remains uncertain. Earlier rumors placed Samsung’s first rollable device in early 2028, while the latest leak suggests the Z9 is being developed alongside other devices that could form part of Samsung’s 2027 flexible-device lineup.

The B9 codename is believed to belong to the Galaxy Z Flip 9. Samsung used B8 for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, making the connection relatively straightforward.

This also suggests Samsung has not abandoned its clamshell foldable series, despite an earlier rumor claiming the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be its final Flip model.

The H9 codename is similarly linked to the Galaxy Z Fold 9, following the H8 codename used for the Galaxy Z Fold 8. GalaxyClub expects both devices to arrive during summer 2027, although Samsung has not confirmed them.

The Q9 project reportedly has two versions named Q9A and Q9B.

GalaxyClub believes one could be the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, while the other may be Samsung’s second-generation tri-folding device. The first Galaxy Z TriFold was also developed as a variation of an existing Galaxy Fold project, supporting this interpretation.

However, the exact identities of Q9A and Q9B remain uncertain. Samsung has not announced either device or confirmed their codenames.

The leak follows an earlier Korean report claiming Samsung could introduce eight flagship devices in 2027. That lineup reportedly includes four conventional Galaxy S models and four foldables: the Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra and a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold.

The leaked codenames therefore point to five projects under development, but they do not guarantee that all five will reach the market. Samsung has not officially confirmed its 2027 foldable lineup, and its plans could change before launch.

This keeps the original details and wording largely intact, but makes the Z9/rollable-phone angle the main hook, with the other codenames and 2027 lineup providing context afterward.
