Xiaomi has launched its latest Redmi K-series smartphones in China, introducing the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max. Both phones combine high-end chipsets, 185Hz displays, large silicon-carbon batteries, and 200MP main cameras.
As always, the Redmi K series continues its trend of offering flagship-grade hardware at much lower prices. The two phones are expected to arrive in the international market, including Pakistan, under the Poco F lineup, but there is no confirmation yet.
The Redmi K100 Pro features a 6.56-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2,510 x 1,156 pixels. It supports an unusually high 185Hz refresh rate.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max comes with a larger 6.9-inch AMOLED panel. It has a 2,608 x 1,200-pixel resolution and also supports a 185Hz refresh rate.
Both phones have IP66, IP68 and IP69 ingress protection ratings. They also feature a Bose-tuned rear subwoofer.
The K100 Pro is available in Volt, White, Black and Red. The K100 Pro Max comes in Blue, White, Black and Red.
The Redmi K100 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series chipset. It is a binned version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with a different Adreno 840 GPU configuration.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max uses the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Both smartphones are available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Both models feature a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor. The regular K100 Pro has a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom.
The K100 Pro Max gets a more advanced 50MP periscope telephoto camera based on Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor. It supports 5x optical zoom.
The Pro Max also has a 50MP ultrawide camera using the OV50M sensor. The K100 Pro instead features an 8MP ultrawide camera.
Battery capacity is one of the major differences between the two phones.
The Redmi K100 Pro packs an 8,580 mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the K100 Pro Max has a slightly larger 9,070 mAh silicon-carbon cell.
Both models support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W reverse wired charging.
The Redmi K100 Pro starts at $548, while the Redmi K100 Pro Max starts at $622.
The K100 Pro is available in four configurations, with prices reaching $696 for the 16GB/512GB model. The K100 Pro Max is offered in five configurations, with the top 16GB/1TB version priced at $890.
Xiaomi has not announced international availability for either phone yet. However, there is a possibility that the devices could eventually reach markets such as Pakistan under the Poco F series.
Last year’s Redmi K90 Pro and K90 Pro Max reportedly transitioned to the international market as the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra. If Xiaomi follows the same strategy again, the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max could potentially appear internationally as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra.
If that happens, a Pakistan launch would also be possible, although there is currently no official confirmation from Xiaomi or Poco.
