District Administration Rawalpindi has restored bus stand services on Peshawar Road, Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema announced.

The administration had halted all public and goods transport across Rawalpindi on April 19 with immediate effect, disrupting routine movement across the city.

The restriction applied specifically to buses, vans, and goods vehicles, while private and personal vehicles remained exempt from the order. Authorities had issued the suspension directive as part of security measures and had stated that further updates would follow.

Following the latest development, bus stand operations on Peshawar Road have resumed, allowing public transport services to restart in the area. The restoration is expected to ease commuting difficulties faced by passengers during the suspension period, particularly those dependent on public transport.
