Traffic authorities in Punjab have begun strict enforcement of road safety laws across the province following the conclusion of a two-week awareness campaign.

The move comes on the directives of Punjab Traffic Police DIG Muhammad Waqas Nazir, who ordered action against violations under a zero-tolerance policy. According to a spokesperson, the awareness drive was carried out across the province, including Lahore, where Rahbar squads and safety camps were set up to educate the public.

Officials said the campaign used multiple platforms, including social media and other communication channels, to inform citizens about traffic rules. The drive focused on lane discipline, use of helmets and seat belts, one-way violations, and other common infractions.

Following the campaign, authorities have now shifted to full enforcement, with strict action being taken against violators across Punjab. DIG Waqas Nazir said uniform implementation of traffic laws will be ensured to promote safer roads.

He also urged citizens to follow traffic rules to avoid penalties and help improve road safety for themselves and others.
