The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rain in Karachi from the evening of August 1 through August 2. According to the PMD, a deep depression that formed over the Bay of Bengal now lies over Madhya Pradesh, India. The department said the system will begin weakening within the next 12 hours, will weaken into a depression, and will turn into a low-pressure area 24 to 36 hours later.

According to the PMD, a deep depression that formed over the Bay of Bengal now lies over Madhya Pradesh, India. The department said the system will begin weakening within the next 12 hours, will weaken into a depression, and will turn into a low-pressure area 24 to 36 hours later.

The PMD said moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal continue to enter Pakistan’s upper and central regions, while a western weather system continues to affect the country’s northern areas.

These weather systems will bring intermittent rain to Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Sanghar, and Hyderabad from the evening or night of July 31 until August 2.

The PMD said the same weather system will bring light to moderate rain to Karachi from the evening of August 1 through August 2. However, the department added that the system will not bring heavy rainfall to the city.
