The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a new monsoon spell across parts of the country, with rainfall expected in several northern regions this weekend.
According to the latest tourist weather update, mostly dry conditions are expected across popular tourist destinations, although partly cloudy weather is likely in northern areas.
The weather is expected to change over the weekend, with rain forecast in Kashmir, particularly Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas. Parts of Malakand and Hazara divisions are also expected to receive rainfall.
Earlier, the Met Office forecast thunderstorms and rain in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy rainfall could also increase the risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, Islamabad is expected to remain hot and humid today, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 36°C. Rain is also forecast in the capital over the coming days.
In Karachi, partly cloudy conditions are expected, with a possibility of light drizzle. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 34°C.
Tourists planning trips to northern areas this weekend have been advised to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts, particularly when travelling through mountainous regions.
