Oppo and Vivo are reportedly working on dedicated vlogging cameras that could compete with DJI’s Osmo Pocket lineup, adding two major smartphone brands to a compact camera segment that is becoming more crowded.
The latest leak from China suggests that both devices may feature a 200MP camera with a 1/1.12 inch type sensor. That sensor size points toward Sony’s Lytia 901, a 200MP image sensor announced in November for mobile imaging applications.
The rumored Oppo and Vivo vlogging cameras are expected to use the same large 200MP sensor size, which could give them stronger imaging hardware than many compact creator cameras.
Sony’s Lytia 901 is an approximately 200-effective-megapixel sensor designed for high-resolution imaging and strong zoom performance, making it a likely match for the leaked 1/1.12 inch sensor detail.
Oppo may co-brand its vlogging camera with Hasselblad, while Vivo may use Zeiss branding. Both companies already use these imaging partnerships in their smartphone camera systems.
The devices are also expected to use flagship-level chips, though the exact processors have not been named yet. The leak also suggests that both cameras will support direct connection with each brand’s smartphones.
The smartphone connection could allow users to save footage from the vlogging camera directly to an Oppo or vivo phone.
That would make editing and sharing easier, especially for creators who already use their phones for social media uploads, short videos, and mobile editing.
The move appears to target the same market that helped make DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 popular among vloggers and travel creators.
Oppo has already confirmed plans to develop a handheld gimbal camera to compete with DJI’s Osmo Pocket lineup, though it has not shared design or launch details.
Vivo has also been linked to a similar pocket camera project, with earlier reports suggesting that the company began work on the device in late 2025 and could launch it in 2026.
DJI is also expected to expand its own lineup with the Osmo Pocket 4 and a possible Osmo Pocket 4P.
Insta360 is entering the same category as the Luna, its first pocket gimbal camera and a direct rival to DJI’s compact vlogging cameras. The Luna is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.
For now, Oppo and vivo have not officially announced these rumored 200MP vlogging cameras, but the leaks suggest that smartphone makers are preparing to compete more directly in the dedicated creator camera market.
