A sewage drain carrying wastewater from across Murree is being presented as a waterfall to tourists at a spot along the Murree Rawalpindi GT Road.
The man-made waterfall is located between Chatta Mor and Bansera Gali, where an alleged group has turned the sewage drain into an artificial picnic spot that attracts a large number of tourists every day.
Unaware that the water comes from a sewage drain, visitors often mistake the site for a natural waterfall. Many tourists take pictures and videos at the location, while some even enter the contaminated water.
According to locals, cameramen and taxi operators bring tourists to the site and earn money by promoting it as a tourist attraction.
Tourists and local residents have called on the district administration to shut down the artificial picnic spot and prevent visitors from being exposed to the contaminated water.
