The Lahore Electric Supply Company’s (LESCO) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has remained down for the past seven days, disrupting material issuance across the company’s offices.

According to reports, the technical fault has prevented the issuance of transformers, electricity meters, poles, and other essential material.

As a result, work on new electricity connections and other related consumer services has started facing delays due to the non-availability of required material.

Reports said LESCO had recently updated the software as part of efforts to modernize its ERP system. However, a technical fault developed following the update and has yet to be resolved.

The prolonged outage has also left LESCO offices unable to prepare material release orders.

LESCO had introduced the ERP system to make the material issuance process paperless. The system was implemented with the approval of the company’s Board of Directors and senior management.

The ongoing technical issue has disrupted material supply and is causing difficulties for consumers seeking new electricity connections and other related services.
