Lahore is likely to remain in the grip of a severe heatwave over the coming days, with the temperature expected to climb to 44°C to 45°C.

According to the weather forecast, the city will continue to experience hot and dry conditions, while intense sunshine is expected to make the heat feel harsher than usual, especially during daytime hours.

The broader heatwave is expected to persist across Punjab until June 12. In Lahore, daytime temperatures are forecast to stay extremely high, while minimum temperatures may remain around 30°C, offering little relief even at night.

In view of the situation, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority has issued a formal heatwave alert for Punjab from June 8 to 12. Citizens have been urged to avoid direct sunlight, limit unnecessary outdoor movement, and take precautionary steps to protect themselves from heat-related illness.

Experts have advised people to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of water, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

The latest warning suggests that Lahore will continue to face harsh weather conditions this week, with authorities stressing the need for caution as the heatwave persists.
