The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reclaimed 50 kanal of encroached land at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad during a joint anti-encroachment operation conducted by its Enforcement and Environment Wings. The land had been earmarked for the National Center for Physics.
During the operation, 7 illegal structures were removed from the site, clearing the encroached land for its designated purpose. The CDA said the action was part of its continued efforts to reclaim public land and restore its intended use.
Heavy machinery was used by CDA teams during the operation, while representatives of the district administration were also present at the site. A heavy contingent of police was deployed to deal with any possible untoward incident during the anti-encroachment drive.
The operation also resulted in 01 obstruction case, which was referred to the Secretariat Police Station for further legal action. The CDA said the action was taken to prevent illegal encroachments and obstructions on public land.
The CDA has stated that operations against illegal encroachments will continue across Islamabad. The authority said the ongoing drive is aimed at reclaiming public land, removing illegal structures and restoring encroached areas to their designated purposes.
