Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 Max as the fourth model in the Xiaomi 17 series.
The phone carries the Max name and arrives as the less flashy sibling of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. It removes the secondary rear screen but adds a higher resolution 200MP main camera and a larger 8,000mAh SiC battery.
The Xiaomi 17 Max features a large 6.9-inch AMOLED display. The screen has a 2,608 x 1,200 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also offers up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness.
The front includes a 32MP selfie camera inside a punch hole cutout. The phone also has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Xiaomi is offering the 17 Max in black, white, and blue colors. The phone also comes with full IP68 and IP69 ingress protection.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. On the software side, the phone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
The Xiaomi 17 Max has a 200MP main camera on the back. The main camera uses Samsung’s HP9 sensor and supports up to 13.5EV dynamic range. It also has an f/1.65 aperture and optical image stabilization.
The main camera is joined by a 50MP 3x telephoto camera that also supports macro photography.
The third rear camera is a 17mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide shooter. For selfies, the phone has a 32MP front camera.
The Xiaomi 17 Max packs an 8,000mAh SiC battery. The phone supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It can also provide up to 22.5W reverse wired charging for other devices.
In China, the Xiaomi 17 Max starts at around $705 for the 12GB/256GB model. The 16GB and 512GB models are priced at around $853.
