Xiaomi has introduced a new version of its tablet in China called the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition. The device is based on the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, launched in September 2025, but this model is positioned more directly toward students.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition features a 12.1-inch display with 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi has used matte glass on the screen to reduce glare, which is intended to help during extended study sessions.

The tablet also includes a rugged protective case in the box. The case features a latch, a stylus holder, and a foldable cover that doubles as a stand.

The hardware remains unchanged from the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and comes in a single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration.

The Learning Edition includes education-focused software features. An AI teacher can interact with users in real time and support question-and-answer sessions during lessons. Another tool can check homework with one tap, provide feedback, and identify areas where improvement is needed. The tablet also includes a three-year subscription to Xiaomi Education Center. This service offers access to textbooks, more than 150,000 lessons, and structured study plans.

Xiaomi has not detailed any camera changes, indicating the hardware remains the same as the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition packs a 12,000mAh battery. It supports 33W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, allowing it to charge other devices. The tablet is priced at $396.

That is higher than the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro, which costs $263 with the same 8GB + 128GB memory configuration.

Xiaomi has not announced plans for a wider release, though the company has launched similar child-focused tablets outside China before.
