Dell has introduced a new Dell 14S at IFA 2026, targeting students and mainstream buyers with a lightweight aluminum design, four color options, long battery life, and Intel’s latest Core Series 3 processors.
The laptop is positioned below Dell’s XPS 13 and could compete with Apple’s MacBook Neo when it launches later this fall.
The Dell 14S uses an aluminum chassis measuring around 13.5mm thick and weighing approximately 1.15kg (2.5 pounds).
Dell will sell it in four colors: Linen, Dusty Rose, Washed Denim, and Velvet Green.
Buyers can choose between two non-touch 14-inch 16:10 displays.
The standard panel has a 1920 × 1200 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 300 nits of brightness.
The higher-end display increases the resolution to 2880 × 1800, refresh rate to 120 Hz, and brightness to 450 nits.
Dell offers two Intel Wildcat Lake processors: the Core 5 320 and Core 7 350.
Both have six CPU cores. The Core 5 320 reaches up to 4.6GHz and includes a 16-TOPS NPU, while the Core 7 350 boosts up to 4.8GHz with a 17-TOPS NPU. Both rely on integrated Intel graphics.
Memory options include 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The memory is soldered to the motherboard, meaning it cannot be upgraded later.
Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSDs.
The laptop runs Windows 11.
The Dell 14S packs a 61.2Wh battery. Dell claims it can provide up to 21 hours of Netflix streaming on a single charge.
Dell says it is using a denser battery cell designed to run cooler and retain its capacity over time without increasing the laptop’s weight.
Connectivity includes two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with charging and DisplayPort support, a full-size HDMI 1.4 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Wireless options include Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E, depending on configuration, alongside Bluetooth 5.3 or 5.4.
The laptop also includes a 1080p webcam, dual-array microphones, and stereo speakers. An infrared camera for Windows Hello will be available on some configurations.
The Dell 14S is scheduled to launch in fall 2026, but Dell has not announced its price yet.
The company is positioning it below the XPS 13, which suggests the 14S is intended to compete in the more affordable mainstream laptop segment.
Its combination of a lightweight aluminum body, up to a 2.8K 120Hz display, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and a long claimed battery life puts it directly against compact laptops such as Apple’s MacBook Neo.
