Samsung has confirmed that the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 will begin on April 30, 2026, starting in South Korea for the Galaxy S25 series.
International markets, including the US, are expected to begin receiving the update from around May 4, according to a Samsung representative.
The Galaxy S26 series already ships with One UI 8.5 pre-installed.
That makes the Galaxy S25 lineup the first existing devices scheduled to receive the stable upgrade after completing nine beta builds since December 2025.
One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 and introduces several new features.
The update includes Ambient Design, which adds blur-based visual changes across the interface and refreshed stock apps.
Samsung is also integrating Perplexity-powered Bixby, replacing its previous in-house language model system.
Other additions include Call Screening, Photo Assist, Creative Studio, and Audio Eraser.
Audio Eraser is designed to reduce background noise in real time across supported apps such as YouTube and Instagram.
Samsung’s point-five updates have historically been smaller releases focused mainly on flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices.
One UI 8.5 appears to be broader than previous versions, with support extending to Galaxy A, M, and F series models.
This suggests Samsung is using One UI 8.5 as a wider Android 16 rollout across more of its product range.
Samsung has not yet published an official supported device list. Based on current testing and previous rollout patterns, these devices are expected to receive the update:
Following the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is expected to release the update to newer foldables soon after.
The Galaxy S24 lineup and Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are likely to receive the update in early to mid-May.
Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, and mid-range A, M, and F series devices are expected to receive One UI 8.5 through May and June.
Samsung is expected to complete the rollout before beginning the One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series later in 2026.
