Tecno has introduced the Pop X 5G. The device arrives with a redesigned exterior, a large battery, fast charging support, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chipset, which should enable 5G connectivity for cheap.
The Tecno Pop X 5G features a fresh rear design with a horizontal camera visor layout. It is built around a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,576 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The screen reaches up to 560 nits peak brightness and includes a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. The phone measures 8.2mm thick and carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Tecno said the camera housing uses 6-series aerospace-grade aluminum, similar to the Spark 50. The device is available in Midnight Blue and Ripple Green color options.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor powers the Pop X 5G. It runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Tecno has also included its AI software package, which offers AI Noise Cancellation, AI Writing Assistant, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Image Extender, and AI Flash Snap.
The phone also supports FreeLink, allowing direct text messaging and calling with other supported Tecno devices without cellular connectivity. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is included for security.
On the front, the phone features an 8MP selfie camera placed inside the punch-hole display cutout.
At the back, the Pop X 5G features a single 13MP main camera with an LED flash.
The Tecno Pop X 5G packs a 6,500mAh battery with 45W wired charging support.
It is offered in two memory variants. The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at $172, while the 6GB RAM + 128GB version costs $193.
