Sony is preparing to add another smartphone to its Xperia lineup, with a new Xperia launch scheduled for Tuesday, August 25.

The company will livestream the event on YouTube, starting at 11:00 AM Japan time.

Sony has not officially revealed which device it plans to launch. However, recent leaks suggest the upcoming phone will be the Xperia 10 VIII, also known as the MK8.

Its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VII, or MK7, launched in September last year. If Sony introduces the Xperia 10 VIII on August 25, the new model will arrive nearly a month earlier than its predecessor.

A recent Geekbench listing has also revealed a key detail about the expected Xperia 10 VIII.

According to the benchmark listing, the phone will use the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset found in the Xperia 10 VII.

Sony has not yet officially confirmed the Xperia 10 VIII or its specifications.
