The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has nominated a vlogger and two social media users besides up to 40 unknown persons in an FIR for allegedly defaming the commission and inciting people to harm its officials in addition to staging a sit-in protest outside the office.
According to details, the FIR was registered at GOR police station on Sunday on the complaint of Assistant Secretary SPSC Muhammad Mustafa Jafri.
He stated that a vlogger Imtiaz Chandio uploaded a video on his Facebook account in which he created doubts about fair and transparent results of Combined Competitive Exams (CCE) 2023.
The complainant claimed that the video, which also allegedly incited protest sit-ins outside the SPSC’s head office or on the highway, was shared by 2 social media users, Fayaz Hussain Shar and Rafifullah Qureshi, as well on their Facebook pages.
Jafri said due to the said provocation around 30 to 40 unknown persons staged a sit-in outside the SPSC’s office on May 8, holding the staff hostage for around 90 minutes.
The case has been registered under sections 500, 504, 505, 153, 117, 147, 149, 341, 506 and 120 (b) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and sections 6 (B), 6 (C) and 11 W/7 of Anti Terrorism Act in addition to section 20 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
