The Sindh government has handed over 35 modern firefighting vehicles to Rescue 1122 to strengthen fire and emergency response services across the province.
The vehicles were purchased by the Local Government Department and will be distributed in phases to municipal corporations and union committees in different districts.
Sindh Local Government Minister Nasser Hussain Shah and Adviser to the Chief Minister Gianchand Esrani attended the handover ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Shah said the new vehicles are part of the government’s efforts to equip rescue and firefighting services with modern machinery and essential facilities.
He said the new additions would improve the province’s ability to respond to fire emergencies, particularly in urban areas, while helping reduce response times and protect lives and property.
Shah added that more firefighting vehicles are expected to arrive and will be allocated to districts based on need and priority. Union committees will also be provided with necessary facilities to strengthen emergency response at the local level.
He said the government is continuing to provide modern machinery, firefighting equipment, and other essential facilities to improve the operational capacity of Rescue 1122.
Esrani said the new vehicles and equipment would make Rescue 1122 more active, effective, and modern across Sindh.
He added that the government’s priority is to ensure a quick response to accidents, fires, and other emergencies.
