Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 after the device first surfaced in reports in March. Despite being a budget tablet, it brings options to connect to WiFI or 4G, which should make for easier traveling.

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 features a 9.7-inch LCD with a resolution of 2048 x 1280 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals and a 240Hz touch sampling rate for faster response times. It also reaches up to 600 nits of peak brightness.

In terms of design, the tablet measures 226.51 x 147.97 x 7.4 mm and weighs 406 grams. Xiaomi is offering the device in Silver and Graphite Gray color options.

Powering the tablet is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G processor. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and comes with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 runs HyperOS 3 out of the box.

The tablet includes an 8MP rear camera for basic photography and document scanning. On the front, it features a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

It packs a 7,600 mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging. However, in Malaysia and Singapore, Xiaomi ships the tablet with a 15W charger.

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 is available in two versions: Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 4G. The Wi-Fi model starts at $179, while the Wi-Fi + 4G version starts at $211.
