Redmi has introduced a new smartphone series with the launch of the Redmi M100. The phone quietly debuted in China and is already available for purchase in the local market.
It is unclear if the phone will reach the international market.
The Redmi M100 features a 6.9-inch LCD with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi says the screen also includes eye-protection features and uses Corning Gorilla Glass for additional protection.
The phone offers dust and splash resistance. Xiaomi also says the fingerprint sensor is rated to withstand up to 500,000 touches.
At the back, the Redmi M100 uses a four-dimensional micro-curved design. Its camera area also features RGB dynamic lighting.
The phone comes in three colors: Midnight Black, Starry White, and Wilderness Green.
The Redmi M100 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 mobile platform. The 4nm chipset uses an octa-core CPU and is also used in other Xiaomi smartphones, including the Redmi 17 5G.
The phone runs Xiaomi’s Surge OS 3 out of the box.
Other features include NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Redmi has also added a senior care mode aimed at older users. It provides larger icons and fonts, allows media and ringtone volume to reach up to 300%, and includes an option to block unwanted calls. These features are intended to make the device easier to see, hear, and operate.
The Redmi M100 has a 13-megapixel main camera on the back. It supports film filters, portrait mode, night mode, live photos, dual-view shooting, Pro mode, and document scanning.
On the front, the phone comes with a 5-megapixel camera. Its features include beauty mode, face recognition, portrait mode, and night mode.
One of the main highlights of the Redmi M100 is its 7,900mAh battery. It supports 45W wired charging as well as 22.5W reverse wired charging.
The phone also supports the PPS charging protocol, allowing it to work with compatible third-party fast chargers.
In China, the Redmi M100 starts at around $266 for the 8GB+128GB version.
The 6GB+256GB variant costs around $296, while the top-end 8GB+256GB model is priced at around $325.
