Redmi has revealed one of the main features of the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro series before its August 11 launch in China.
The company has introduced a new display technology designed to produce sharper visuals without increasing power consumption. It has also confirmed several key screen specifications for the lineup.
The Redmi K100 Pro series will debut the company’s new M11 OLED light-emitting material and next-generation Super Pixel architecture.
Redmi claims the screen can deliver image quality comparable to premium 2K displays while consuming less power than conventional 1.5K panels.
Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing said the company began working to improve display efficiency several years ago. Instead of relying only on higher resolutions, Redmi focused on improving both the OLED material and pixel arrangement.
The M11 OLED material uses fourth-generation pTSF technology and improves green pixel efficiency by 20 percent. It also covers 90 percent of the BT.2020 color gamut and increases the panel’s lifespan by 5.2 percent.
Redmi’s new Super Pixel technology uses a full RGB layout, giving each pixel its own red, green and blue sub-pixels.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display with 9.389 million sub-pixels. According to the company, this is higher than the number reported for similarly sized 2K OLED panels with a diamond-pixel arrangement.
Redmi has also confirmed several specifications for the K100 Pro Max ahead of its launch.
The phone features a 6.9-inch flat display with ultra-slim bezels. It offers a peak local brightness of 4,500 nits, a 185Hz refresh rate and a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate.
The device uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset alongside the AI D2 graphics chip. This combination supports simultaneous frame interpolation and super resolution during gaming.
Other confirmed features include a dedicated touch chip, a gaming-focused antenna design, and Bose-tuned audio.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max also features a 9,070mAh battery with support for up to 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
For photography, the phone may include a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
The Redmi K100 Pro series will launch in China on August 11.
