The Punjab government has decided to establish new Sahulat Bazaars in 27 cities across the province as part of efforts to provide relief to citizens amid rising inflation.

According to officials, the new markets will become operational from July 1 with the start of the new fiscal year. The government will also launch 13 “Sahulat on the Go” mobile markets in multiple districts.

Authorities said fruits and vegetables at the bazaars will be available at prices up to 40 percent lower than open market rates and 18 percent below officially notified deputy commissioner rates. The project also includes free home delivery within a five kilometre radius.

New bazaars will be established in several districts and tehsils including Bhakkar, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Mandi Bahauddin, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Sialkot, Gujrat, and Sargodha.

Mobile “Sahulat on the Go” markets will operate in parts of Lahore, Jhelum, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Kasur, and Faisalabad. Deputy commissioners have been directed to finalize locations and complete preparations by June 30, while funding for the project will be included in the Punjab budget for fiscal year 2026-27.
