The Punjab government has approved the early disbursement of salaries, allowances, and pensions for May 2026 ahead of Eidul Azha.
According to an official notification issued by the Finance Department, Government of the Punjab, payments to government employees and pensioners belonging to the Muslim community will be released in advance on May 21, 2026.
The decision has been taken to facilitate employees and pensioners in making financial arrangements before Eidul Azha.
The notification has been circulated to the Accountant General Punjab, all district accounts officers, and the Treasury Officer Lahore for necessary action to ensure timely disbursement.
Copies of the directive have also been sent to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and major commercial banks, including National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited, United Bank Limited, Allied Bank Limited, and Muslim Commercial Bank, to coordinate the payment process.
Officials have been instructed to complete all arrangements to ensure that salaries and pensions are credited on the specified date without delay.
