Education boards across Punjab have increased registration and related fees for matric Classes 9 and 10 students for the 2026–28 academic session, citing financial constraints.

All nine Punjab boards have officially begun the matric registration process. Students can submit their registration forms with the normal fee until June 8.

Under the revised structure, the total registration cost has been set at Rs. 2,350, which includes a registration fee of Rs. 1,150, a processing fee of Rs. 870, and a sports fee of Rs. 300.

Students who miss the initial deadline will still be able to register between June 9 and June 23 by paying an additional late fee of Rs. 600.

The boards have also updated charges for other services. Correction of personal data will be allowed until October 31 with a fee of Rs. 750, after which the fee will increase to Rs. 1,250.

Similarly, subject changes can be made until October 31 at a cost of Rs. 2,400, rising to Rs. 2,900 after the deadline.

The migration fee has been set at Rs. 4,800.

For registration, students are required to submit a B-Form along with their father’s national identity card.

Teachers and parents have voiced concerns over the rising costs, saying the increase could place additional financial strain on families with limited income.
