The Punjab School Education Department has directed government schools to grow seasonal vegetables on their premises and ensure their proper maintenance.

In a circular issued to school heads, the department instructed educational institutions to make proper arrangements for vegetable cultivation and assign a staff member to supervise the process.

The circular states that schools where vegetable production has remained unsatisfactory must carry out cultivation again. School administrations have also been directed to ensure timely watering and proper upkeep of the crops.

In addition, schools will be required to share daily photographs showing the care and maintenance of the vegetables.

The department has directed all headmasters to ensure strict compliance with the instructions.
