Punjab’s educational boards are set to introduce a series of reforms aimed at making examinations more transparent, balanced and student-friendly.
Under the proposed changes, reforms will cover the full examination process, including question paper preparation, marking and result compilation.
Question papers will include a mix of easy, difficult and highly difficult questions to ensure a balanced assessment of students’ abilities.
An item bank will also be established to help boards prepare better, more consistent question papers while maintaining an appropriate level of difficulty.
The marking system will also be revised, with marks assigned to different steps in solving questions. This will allow examiners to award credit for correct methods and partial progress rather than focusing solely on final answers.
Officials said the Intermediate Part-I first annual examination results will be announced in the second week of August from next year, instead of September.
All educational boards across Punjab have been directed to implement the proposed reforms.
Officials said the changes are expected to improve transparency, strengthen assessment standards and make the examination process easier for students.
