Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved Punjab’s first sky glass bridge project in Kotli Sattian, Murree district, as part of a broader plan to expand tourism infrastructure in the region.
The approval was granted during a meeting jointly presided over by Nawaz Sharif and the chief minister, where progress on the Murree Protection and Rehabilitation Plan was reviewed.
The meeting also approved the establishment of three hospitality zones in Shawala, Sozo and Brewery areas of Murree, where five-star standard hotels will be developed in collaboration with the private sector.
Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to begin construction of the Murree Glass Train project within one month, while officials also presented plans for three new parks at Angoori Road, MIT Park and Ariari Park in Kotli Sattian.
Participants were briefed on plans to develop facilities at Bansera Gali, including a zoological garden, eco-zone, bridge crossing and a conference facility, along with wildlife conservation infrastructure such as a bear house, tiger house and bird aviary.
The meeting was informed that Murree’s first glamping pod village will be established at Chewra Hill as a new tourist attraction, with operations to be outsourced to the private sector. Officials also approved a paragliding club in Chewra and reviewed progress on the Kotli Sattian chairlift project, Punjab House and Forest Rest House.
