Government employees in Islamabad will get an extended weekend next month, with three consecutive holidays expected. Students and private office employees will also get the long weekend.
According to the Cabinet Division’s official holiday schedule, May 1 has been declared a public holiday on account of Labour Day.
As the holiday falls on a Friday, it will be followed by the regular weekly holidays on Saturday and Sunday, resulting in a three-day break.
Government offices operating on a five-day work week will observe three consecutive holidays during this period.
The Cabinet Division’s notification lists Labour Day among the public holidays for 2026, creating a continuous break for employees next month.
