The Sindh government has declared May 1, 2026, a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Labour Day. According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD), the holiday will be observed on Friday in all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the provincial government.

According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD), the holiday will be observed on Friday in all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the provincial government.

The notification states that the holiday will apply across Sindh, except for essential services. The order was issued on April 22, 2026, and signed by Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah.

Similar announcements are expected from the federal government and other provincial administrations regarding the Labour Day holiday.
