Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced plans to expand its fiber-optic broadband network to 10 million households across Pakistan and equip them with ultra-high-speed internet.
The target was shared by company officials during a financial briefing, where PTCL outlined its long-term strategy to expand fixed broadband penetration in Pakistan.
According to the company, Pakistan currently has around 30 million households, and PTCL intends to significantly scale up fiber connectivity as demand for reliable high-speed internet continues to grow.
At present, PTCL provides last-mile broadband access to approximately 1.7 million households nationwide. The company said continued investment in fiber infrastructure will remain a key priority to expand coverage and improve service quality.
The company wants to make wired broadband more widely accessible, support digital services, remote work, online education, and growing data consumption across urban and semi-urban areas.
