Poco has expanded its M8 smartphone lineup with the launch of the Poco M8s 5G. The new device brings a large battery, a high refresh rate display, and budget hardware at an affordable price point.
The Poco M8s 5G features a 6.9-inch LCD with Full-HD+ resolution. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, which should deliver smoother scrolling, animations, and gaming performance compared to standard displays.
An 8MP selfie camera is placed inside a hole-punch cutout at the front. The phone is offered in White and Black.
Additional hardware features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, and an IR blaster.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. Poco pairs the processor with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.
Users who need more space can expand storage through the included microSD card slot. The Poco M8s 5G runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2 out of the box. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, and Dolby Atmos audio support.
On the rear, the Poco M8s 5G features a 50MP main camera accompanied by an auxiliary sensor. The camera setup supports 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. For selfies and video calls, the phone includes the previously mentioned 8MP front camera.
The Poco M8s 5G packs a 7,000mAh battery, which is one of its biggest highlights. Charging support includes 33W wired charging, while the phone also supports 18W wired reverse charging for powering other devices.
The 6GB + 128GB version is priced at $189. The higher-end 8GB + 256GB variant carries a price tag of $229.
