The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the Pakistan U19 women’s team’s five-match T20 series against South Africa, which will take place in Karachi from July 14 to 24.
All five matches will be played at the National Bank Stadium and will begin at 7 p.m.
South Africa’s Women’s Under-19 team is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on July 10, three days before the opening match. The tour will mark the team’s first-ever visit to Pakistan.
The series will also provide Pakistan’s Women’s Under-19 team with an important opportunity to prepare for the ACC Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan later this year.
It will also form part of the team’s preparations for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which is set to take place early next year.
Earlier, the PCB has also announced a 17-member Pakistan squad for the home series. Middle-order batter Fizza Fiaz will captain the team, replacing Eman Naseer, who was not selected.
Fizza scored a match-winning half-century in the fourth T20 of Pakistan’s five-match away series against Bangladesh in December last year.
The Women’s National Selection Committee made six changes to the squad that toured Bangladesh and won the series 3-2. Alzoha Hammad, Barirah Saif, Hadia Mina, Mah Noor, Maham Nazakat, and Zainab Khanum received call-ups for the upcoming series.
Eleven players from the Bangladesh tour retained their places. They are Fizza Fiaz, Aqsa Habib, Areesha Ansari, Komal Khan, Mahnoor Zeb, Memoona Khalid, Raahima Syed, Ravail Farhan, Rozina Akram, Shahar Bano, and Zoofishan Ayyaz.
