Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has strongly criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) handling of the national team during the ongoing Test series against England and called for the removal of Director of High Performance and selection committee member Aqib Javed.
Ajmal expressed frustration over the large-scale changes made to the team during the series, arguing that such decisions should have been taken after the conclusion of the tour.
He said Pakistan had become a subject of ridicule because players were being sent home immediately after matches, describing the approach as unprofessional and difficult to understand.
According to Ajmal, making major changes to the squad, coaching staff and selection setup while a series is still underway reflects poorly on Pakistan cricket.
He also commented on the controversy surrounding Imam-ul-Haq, saying that if any wrongdoing is proven, the opener should face strict punishment to set an example for other players.
Ajmal also questioned the PCB’s decision to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed while continuing to back Mike Hesson despite Pakistan’s performances in white-ball cricket.
“Sarfaraz has been removed from the coaching staff, but you are praising Mike Hesson. What results has Mike Hesson delivered in white-ball cricket?” Ajmal said in his video message.
In his video message, the former spinner also demanded the removal of Aqib Javed from his position.
“You changed the team and removed the coaches, but why haven’t you removed people like Aaqib Javed, who have ruined Pakistan cricket?” Ajmal said.

His criticism comes after Pakistan suffered two heavy defeats against England to fall 2-0 behind in the three-match series.
Following the second Test, the PCB made sweeping changes ahead of the third and final match, releasing Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamer Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad from the squad.
They were replaced by Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal, Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran Jr., Saad Baig, Mohammad Imran and Razaullah.
The PCB also reshuffled the coaching staff, removing Test head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul. White-ball head coach Mike Hesson and bowling coach Ashley Noffke were handed responsibility for the Test side for the final match.
