The federal government has launched a “one-window” clearance strategy to modernize airport operations and streamline passenger processing across Pakistan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting with officials from the interior and defense ministries to finalize the plan.
The initiative focuses on integrating e-gates and advanced scanning systems to replace multiple security checkpoints with a single, unified screening point.
Officials said the move will reduce congestion at airports by eliminating repetitive checks and long queues.
Joint counters equipped with modern technology will handle passenger clearance more efficiently, improving the overall travel experience.
The government is also accelerating the installation of e-gates to automate border control and speed up entry and exit procedures for both domestic and international travelers.
During the meeting, Naqvi stressed the need for strong coordination among institutions to manage rising passenger traffic and ensure smooth operations at airports.
In addition to passenger facilitation, authorities are taking steps to improve aviation safety. The government plans to import specialized equipment to prevent bird strikes and reduce risks to aircraft.
Officials said the reforms aim to align Pakistan’s aviation system with international standards by enhancing efficiency, safety, and transparency.
