The Pakistan Football League (PFL) has signed a landmark partnership with Dream Sports Group (DSG) to improve football infrastructure across Pakistan, aiming to revive the sport nationwide.

According to the PFL, the agreement directly addresses what it described as the country’s most pressing issue in football, the lack of FIFA-standard venues. Under the partnership, both organizations plan to build 100 new sports grounds across Pakistan by 2028.

The initiative will also include the development of modern football academies alongside the stadiums. These academies are intended to provide structured pathways for emerging players and strengthen grassroots development in the sport.

PFL Chairman Farhan Ahmed Junejo welcomed the partnership, stating that the revival of football in Pakistan is now within reach. He said that the absence of proper infrastructure has been the main obstacle in launching the league since its inception in 2024.

“Since launching the Pakistan Football League in 2024, our mission has been to serve the dreams of millions of passionate fans and aspiring players,” Junejo said. He added that the league is committed to ensuring that talented youth in Pakistan have the opportunity to represent the country both locally and internationally.

Junejo also noted that delays in launching the league were primarily due to the lack of stadiums and proper facilities. He said the collaboration with DSG is a step toward overcoming this challenge and strengthening football infrastructure across the country.

“The revival of football in Pakistan is no longer a distant aspiration,” he said, adding that positive developments are expected soon.

DSG Chairman Qaiser Baryar described the agreement as a “game changer” for football in Pakistan. He emphasized that the partnership goes beyond building stadiums and focuses on creating opportunities for young athletes.

“This is not just about building stadiums, but about building dreams,” Baryar said. He added that the project aims to provide athletes with high-quality facilities while reigniting national interest in the sport.

The PFL also announced that it will reveal key leadership appointments in the coming weeks. In addition, the league plans to share a major development as it works to bring in new expertise and align with international best practices to support the growth of football in Pakistan.
